Is Pinot Noir Have A Sweet Taste?
I had promised myself not to write for a while 'bad luck to many, but when you pat twice a week and the melt turbine, well let's say that everything becomes more 'difficult.
It 's not very difficult however, to make the guide a week in which little or nothing, and' success, I must admit, 's hand, this City 'now seems to have become a huge aquarium ... and the recreational opportunities can be counted on the fingers of one mutilated hand.
Highlights? There 'not playing the gig at Paul Weller' Auditorium. With good
Henry VPE, last Saturday we have given away almost two hours of stellar levels Mod Father (also considering that the tropical temperatures do not help in these cases).
Arrive on site to 7.30 and I headed to the bar of the structure designed by Renzo Piano, which is waiting for you 'Henry. The warm and 'nothing short of torrid, and despite my looks, Fred Perry, a pair of jeans and a pair of attillatisimi some bowling shoes, and appropriate piu'che I seem to have a diving suit on ...
do not even time to say goodbye to Henry, who tells me he converse amiably with Dr. Weller in the bathroom of the room, now the Mod Father sits in front of a row of empty glasses more than two tables 'on with the band and I can not find your heart to go and disturb
... I find it a bit' more stilosissimo greased but still, we decide then to fall back on two Negroni.
Around 21.00 the band takes the stage. Accompanied by the faithful Steve White on drums, Damon Minghella on bass and Steve Craddock on guitar, ns. gives us a pretty substantial lineup (I think I counted 25 pieces).
The stage and 'bare, just a' Union Jack with the usual Fire + Skill motto hanging by a 'Marshall amp to the right of Mod Woking, otherwise no frills, plenty of substance and a parade of guitars from a heart attack. The concert begins in acoustic / intimate fishing in large part from 'last, great, As Is Now and included in this portion Wishin on Star Studio 150 by and the classic Wild Wood , flow then line up pieces Stanley Road, The Changinman , the sequence on the floor and Broken Stones and You do something to me then Porcelain Gods / I Walk on Gilded Splinters from Heavy Soul are played Peacock Suites and Up in Suze's Room .
On stage the band grinds great, compact like a train, but also capable of exquisite refinements when necessary, to drive the ball there 'but' the Mod Father that despite dangerously approaching the 50 still has a 'power devastating and the 'typical arrogance of those who are' out of the punk, comes from the working class and never misses a chance to prove it. You'll also notice as you approach even more pieces to the 'soft, almost angry to his way of scratching even when you expect it. And the show runs like a triumphal march, we present wrapped with a bubble of heat that even the Flaming Lips, but happy. However after weeks spent talking football, and after that noise is dedicating a thematic guide to the psychedelic freak-beat and the UK made a (albeit very well done) 3 chicchettine reprinted here by relatively little to cheer this' sultry summer
The Attack - The Definitive Mod-Pop Collection 1967-1968: Collection really well done, mod-freakbeat stellar, if you have neglected them up and grab it now, great Phil Smee notes even if I do not understand the 'omission of Magic in The Air.
The Open Mind-S / t: From the authors of the devastating Magic Potion, a masterpiece of British psychedelia suspended between razor hard-psych episodes and more 'classic pop.
The World of Oz-S / t: side more 'dreamy British pop-psych, the perfect soundtrack for reading Alice in Wonderland, suspended what it 'between dreamy fairy-tale atmosphere and arrangements that winking' eye to the Bee Gees First.
